This Morning Routine Will Improve Your Mood
Consistency … easier said than done
Wake up at the same time each morning. This helps to regulate your internal clock and feel more alert and refreshed.
Drink water. Starting the day with a glass of water helps rehydrate your body which can help boost your energy and improve cognitive function
Sunlight exposure. Natural light in the mornings has been shown to increase serotonin production, which is a hormone that improves mood. Open your blinds, or even better yet step outside for some fresh air and sunlight.
Eat breakfast. A healthy breakfast that is well-balanced can give you sustained energy and help stabilize your mood throughout the morning.
Limit screen time. Especially avoiding checking social media immediately upon waking. Give yourself time to ease into the day without the distractions or stress of external demands.
Plan your day. Spend just a few minutes organizing your day, prioritizing tasks, and breaking them down into manageable pieces. Having a clear plan can reduce feeling overwhelmed and make you feel more in control.
