The Beginners Guide to Meditation

Simplified Version

Meditation is all about letting go of attachments and being in the present. It takes practice so give yourself time and grace:

  1. Choose a comfortable spot, often in a seated position.

  2. Decide on a time frame. (Start with small increments)

  3. Get into a relaxed posture.

  4. Focus on your breath keeping it calm and deep.

  5. Observe your thoughts and clear your mind.

  6. Stay present in the moment even when your mind starts to wander bringing it back to the moment.

If you are having trouble start with guided meditations. Or you can use a different technique where you scan your body searching for tension or sensations in each part and then try to relax those areas.
